Capernwray Québec is looking for an organized and detail-orientated person to serve as our bookkeeper—beginning with a two year-commitment and working towards longer-term service. The bookkeeper is responsible for the oversight of financial accounts and implementing all accounting procedures. (These include but are not limited to: balancing and reconciling accounts, bill payments, data entry, and financial year-end procedures.)
As CQBC is a small centre, each staff member usually carries multiple roles. While bookkeeping would be the primary role, secondary responsibilities would be given based on the individual’s gifts, interests, and abilities. Through all the work we do, our goal is to proclaim the centrality of Christ to the Christian life to students, guests, and other staff!
Previous bookkeeping experiencing is helpful but not necessary. A basic working knowledge of the French language is recommended.
CQBC is looking for an assistant cook! Join our staff team for a fun year of serving guests, students, and staff through the joy of providing delicious meals. Must be able to follow directions and accept constructive feedback. Enjoyment of cooking, baking, and a willingness to learn and work hard are necessary! This is a volunteer position, open in August 2019. Food and housing are provided.
Through all the work we do, our goal at Capernwray Québec is to proclaim the centrality of Christ to the Christian life to students, guests, and other staff.
CQBC is seeking a full-time Maintenance Manager. This is a key position for the smooth running of the property and programming throughout the year. We are looking for an individual who is self-motivated, a problem solver, values a job done well, and is able to work with leadership to understand the overall goals and vision of the Maintenance department.
Experience and skill in a variety of trades (such as carpentry, electrical, plumbing, welding, mechanical, and landscaping) is a prerequisite for this position, and a general understanding of property/facility management is helpful. This individual must be able to work well with others and manage an assistant on a daily basis. A basic working knowledge of the French language is needed.
Our hope would be to begin with a two-year commitment (working towards longer term), as continuity in this department is valuable. Through all the work we do, our goal is to proclaim the centrality of Christ to the Christian life to students, guests, and other staff!
We are looking for a full-time, bilingual (French/English) Conferencing Coordinator to join the team at Capernwray Québec! The Conferencing Coordinator is responsible for booking guests and retreats, organizing guest retreats, hosting groups, facilitating guest programmes, and working as a liaison between CQBC and guests.
Conferencing is a major part of the ministry at CQBC, as we seek to encourage and build up the church within Québec—that Christ may be proclaimed throughout this region!
The individual must have a firm grasp on both the written and verbal French language. A heart for connecting with people and a desire to share Christ through word and deed are valuable characteristics needed for this position. Our aim is to begin with a two-year commitment (working towards longer-term), as developing personal relationships with the Christian community in Québec is crucial to this position and to the ministry at CQBC.
